    DefaultPhone number

If there's any chance at all that your dog can get away from you, please have your phone number on his/her collar. Even if microchipped or license on collar, he still must be found by someone who will take the time and effort to have him checked.. Several times I had found a stray with a collar but no ID. It would have been so easy to just hold the dog and make the call. This morning while walking my crew, a young lady in a car stopped to ask if I had seen her dog. She was so upset she could hardly ask through the tears. No collar.

Great reminder, Barbara. My girls are chipped but they also wear a collar with a flat brass nameplate with our phone number on it.

Also, we learned this several years ago. When we travel with them, we have another set of collars & those collars have our cell phone number on them. We go to the beach in the Outer Banks & it wouldn't do any good to have our home phone number on the collars.

The beagles all have collars with our phone number embroidered on them, plus a flat collar tag with the address too. It has brought Boomer back from his adventures several times now. The last collars I bought were Camo colored (Blaze's is pink camo) but Boomer managed to ditch his in the backyard and it took a week to find and by then I had ordered him a new one - in orange!

Good idea! I have both made a "collar call" and received one

Also, no address. I don't want anyone coming to my house! Cell phone number only, if you have one.

I have my cell phone # and the vet's number in case they couldn't get me. Also thinking that in case he would be hurt they would call/take him to a known place.

we've got both of our cell #'s on Maddox's tag. in my old neighborhood there was a beagle named Jager who often escaped...his first visit to our yard was in the middle of a bbq, so it became his first stop on future adventures. he had a tube attached to his collar with a scroll of paper inside that had his info...eventually we didn't need the tube, i knew the number by heart.
