    DefaultHey Grampa ...

If I can catch a few more of these can we fix 'em for my last dinner here tonight? I know that the puppies love their fish too.

As you can see by the exposed banks, the pond is down about 30". The bluegills are still in there by the gazillions and Jay can catch them faster than I can put bait on for him. Some of them are pushing a pound+ ...

BTW ... we ate lamb chops. Poor deprived grandson!

Linda ... you would have really LOL'd if with us for Grammy's birthday dinner. We ate at an Italian Restaurant in Bonham TX. Carol ordered a large deep fried calamari appetizer for all of us. When they brought it to the table, Jay asked what it was, I quickly told him fish because when he was in Hawaii in June visiting his other grandpa, they had him try lots of "local" stuffs and he did NOT like the Ika, taco or opihi ... at all! Said he would NEVER eat that $tuff again.

After he finished 6 or 7 calamari in a marinara sauce, I asked him ... "do you want to know what the really was you just ate?" His face got a little whiter than normal when I told him it was SQUID. "NUH - UH!", he said. "UH-HUH", I replied. Ah, the resilience of youth. He ate the remaining three pieces and said it was really good ... COOKED!

Good call on the fibbing. To be fair to Jay, I tried Ika in Japan. A big ole hunk of rubbery white squid without much seasoning. It wasn't very good. I could see how calamari would taste better, but somehow, I've never gotten around to tasting it.

Jim I must have missed it but where does Jay live the rest of the year. He is growing fast isn't he? Much love to the puppers.
