    DefaultUpdate at top Prayers and good thoughts for Jack please-

    Please keep Jack in your thoughts and prayers. We left Jack at the vet's for X rays this morning. He was limping very badly over the weekend. He has trouble getting up, and occasionally loses his footing. Jack has been on Tramadol and Derramax for a long time. Jack resisted the vet's efforts to straighten his left rear leg, but never growled or made other noises. His right front shoulder also has some issues, but he was still wagging his tail and being still. He is so stoic. Buddy was with us. When the vet tech took Jack back to the holding area Buddy tried to go with him. He pulled and when I started for the other door Buddy stood his ground, looking at me then the other doorway Jack and gone through and back at me. No, Jack went that way and tried to get to the other door. I had to drag him out of the vet's and he did not want to get in the car. I had to pick him up. He stayed in the back of the van on the floor and even at home he is mopey. We pick Jack up at 3p this afternoon. I hope they will be able to control Jack's pain.

    === UPDATE===

    When we left Jack at the vet's this morning he was hobbling and limping pretty bad. Vet took X-rays. Actually update shots.We know the joints are arthritic, and the rear joints have been bad for years. Jack is just so stoic. Jack's hip joints are trashed. Arthritis so bad, he can't tell if there is HD or not. He figures it is. Jack is not a candidate for replacement surgery due to muscle atrophy, (cause unknown) but noted years ago, the amount of arthritis, and his age. The front shoulder does not look as bad arthritis wise. All the vet did was take X-rays. Limit exercise to short swims, no walks, and limited play.

    When Jack was discharged, there was hardly a limp. First thing Jack did at the house was to get his squeaky toy. Still no noticeable limp. Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts, they worked.

    Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for much, but bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
