I have six dogs. If we're still using the age of 7 years as senior, by the end of this year all mine will be. Here's what I'll have:
1 fourteen years
1 ten years
3 nine years

I constantly say... Please let my girl live to a ripe ol'e age for a lab... I have lost 2 way too soon....
Really want to have a grand ol'e dame that lives & lives!!!! Of course we all do.....
Mine are 12 and 8. Both seniors.
It is kind of sad isn't it Nanc. It seems like only a couple of years we have been reading about each others dogs, but when you put it like that is is a long time.
I hear you. When I bought Kassa home I thought I had a Lab for at least 11-14 years. Sadly Kassa only 3 and the vets said Erns wouldn't be an old dog. A few scares along the way, but we are getting there.
ETA.Erns is 9 and Tessa just turned 5.
It makes you realize that every day you have with them is a blessing.
Four years ago when mine were 9,7, and 6, I was thinking like you and called M&J's breeder, told her in a few years, I will be wanting another yellow female. She said she is no longer breeding and just had her last litter...mama, due to be spayed. Three yellow males were left. I picked up Bruno the next day and never regretted it.
Time to add a puppy!!!!

Yes it is so hard,
Ican't believe Clancey is 14 and Harper just about 12
They just need to stay with us forever
