DefaultWe are back from the vet.

$295.25 OUCH. She does not have Giardia nor any other intestinal parasite. The vet thinks it is because of her compromised immune system that she can't kick this bug. She lost 10 pounds in about 7 days. Wish I could do that.

She is now on Metronidazole, Amoxicillin, and Loperamide, and ID canned food along with some chicken, rice, and yogurt until she is better.

They are to call me early next week to see how she is doing.
Now to get the car fixed. Can't wait to see what that will cost. I think the starter is going.

That's a substantial weight loss in such a short time! I hope the meds get your girl back on track PRONTO!

I hope your girl gets well fast! Vets are so expensive, and we are so fortunate here. A new clinic has opened and it is funded by donations and grants. It is a low cost clinic and charges according to income. No one is turned away for an inability to pay. I have heard wonderful things about the vets that work there as well as the vet that established the clinic. My niece took her cat there and was impressed. Here is the link... perhaps you have clinics like this in your area.
