We talked with a lady today who lives on the highway fairly close to where we found Buddy last Sunday morning. She told us that she had seen him many times since late last summer but nobody could get close enough to him to grab hold of his collar. So he's been running free since at least mid-August. For some reason he decided to trust us and allow us to take him home and care for him.
Try as we did to find the rightful owner, nobody responded to our numerous ads, posts, posters and other forms of notices for a found Lab. Finally, a fella from one of the N TX duck hunting websites who has a 15 year old boy asked if he couldn't have Buddy. The boy has been begging for one and I just cant imagine a better match.
Carol and I are waiting for them to arrive right now. So we went out and took some pre-departure pictures of Buddy with his temporary family. Carol and Cappy will miss him. Remi and I are going to REALLY miss him!
Excuse me, I must've gotten some dawg hair in my eyes. Sniff - sniff. More to follow after his forever family meets him.
Sounds like he going to a great new home.

Wonderful outcome for Buddy. All of you are fortunate to have had this time together. Thanks for seeing it through, Jim.
