QuestionBest way to switch dog food to another brand for a puppy?

I will be getting my 16 week puppy this Saturday and found out they are feeding her Pedigree (puppy)
I am wanting to switch her over to another brand of dog food. What is the best way to handle this....?
    Thank-you.

    Very slowly.
Mix 1/4 of the new food with 3/4 of the old food for a few days, then 1/2 new, 1/2 old for a few days, 3/4 new, 1/4 old for a few days...then all new food.

Also, a pup goes through alot of stress going to a new home, don't add food-stress to the equation right away. Buy a 20# bag of what he's on and do a slow transition. Staying on Pedigree for another month won't kill your puppy, but will make his tummy feel ALOT better.

I agree with both of these suggestions.

get at least a bag of the pedigree, do NOT change right away. giver her a month on this food then change.

if you trust your breeder to raise the puppy (and at least one of hte parents) then you should trust them to feed the food they feed their dogs for at least awhile.

This puppy is not coming from a breeder, I'm adopting her from a "2nd chance Animal shelter"
So I just happened to ask what they are feeding her? Thanks for all your reply's.

    Thank you for adopting.

But I still believe you should keept he dog on the same food for at least a few weeks if not over a month until she adapts.
