Going to the vet at 3 pm. He threw up in his crate last night. Then this morning he had very watery diahrea. He wont eat..barely drinks. He doesnt have his usual puppy happiness..just laying down. No panting or drooling. He is just not himself. I may be over-reacting by running him to the vet, but better to be safe than sorry.
Poor Titus I hope he feels better soon. I don;t blame you for running him to the vet but I would too if I was in your situation.
Could he have gotten into the trash or something?
~It doesn't matter how smart the dog is,it matters how smart the owner is.
No, the vet asked that too while I was on the phone with her. I try to be pretty vigilant with him. When we are outside, he is almost always on lead. Sometimes when we are working on yard parimaters he is off but Im always close. Inside he is always within my sight.(trying to make sure he isnt eating the furniture..lol) I left him for 5 mins last week to go potty and he ate the linoleum!!! The only thing I can think of that we did different is we took him swimming. He did lap some water up..maybe he picked up a bug? We havent taken him anywhere really..other than swimming.
My girls always drink alot of water when they're swimming...then puke it up or having some watery poops after wards.
Is he keeping cool in this heat?
Good thoughts for your boy! Hope he feels better soon!

javasmom - We have AC in the house, and Titus has only been out to potty, the past 3 days. Its been 100+ here with heat and humidity. Too terrible to be outside for any extended period of time, for fur or skin kids.
have you taken his temperature?

have the vet check for giardia. very common to pick it up after swimming and the symptoms you are describing fit it to a T.

I would suspect giardia also. esp, if drinking pond water. It has been so hot that pond water can go bad and contain some pretty icky stuff
