    DefaultGiving Kate more freedom.

We have started to give Kate run of the house when we leave. Okay...it's just small amounts of time, but so far so good. She turned two in July. She has been trustworthy at night for a long time now. So we will see. Today went well. In fact, when we got home, we already were in the garage & when I opened the door to the kitchen, Abby was there but I didn't see Kate. Okay, I was a bit nervous, then I walk to the stairs & there she is, stretching in the hall. She was on our bed. Some watchdog.

Some of you may remember we had to get new family room carpet when we were trying to let Abby out of her crate alone. Kate has been crated the longest. Our other two labs Shadow & Molly, were trustworthy to be out of their crates by about 9 months. Abby was 15 months.

Awesome job Kate!...I can't wait until I get to that stage, I miss that freedom and no having to worry if she is alone would she pee in the bedrooms!

I'm going to try Bean alone for ten or fifteen minutes. He's fine uncrated at night (besides once last week). He seems to just get into things for attention- will he not do it if there's nobody around?

I bet Abby was in bed too and heard you come, jumped out to greet you.
I know all of mine go to my bed whenever they know I'm leaving.
