3 Years ago, Pitch Tested Positive for Lyme. We treated him, and every year they recheck him to see if he gets Lyme. They use a base number, If higher, it is obvious that he has gotten Lyme again and such. Today I had both dogs Tested. The Tech informed us, both dogs are negative for lyme. I looked at her confused, and told tried to get her to explain to me how this is possible. Don't get me wrong, I am happy he is negative. I guess I was under the impression that once you were positive, they stayed positive. She said that the treatment must of worked. Huh? Last Year he was still showing a base number. Is it possible he was a false neg?
Pitch also has lost weight...Phew...Good think I brushed the 6lbs of fur off him before we left. Doctor wanted to see him under 100lbs, but was happy he was down to 102. He was so proud of himself. Usually he fights getting up on the scale. Today he got right up there, almost like he knew he had lost a few lbs.
I don't know. I am interested too since Kate tested positive for lyme. Her C-6 was 27, which the vet said was low. Some don't treat until over 30. We treated her. So I am curious too. I thought they would also test positive, but now I am not sure.
Java tested positive for Lyme when she was 5 months old.
She was treated for it with a month of meds.
She has tested negative every year since then.
