Today the drum corps I am on tour with is in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. As the hornline was stretching, I got out my trumpet to practice. I was distracted by an older couple walking their 3 dogs... One of which was an 11 year old chocolate lab. I watched for a little while and looked away. When I looked back, the dog was on the ground and the last was beckoning me to go over to her. I sprinted over there and saw the dog was shaking and breathing deeply as it had spasms. The lady needed help getting their dog into the car. I feel horrible for this couple. I hope their dog is ok... She looked completely normal 5 minutes before this happened.
Update: the owner of the dog just came back to the school and found me. He looked a little watery eyed and he told me that I helped save his dog's life. She has COPD and he got overheated. They got her back to their house and hosed her down and she stabilized. I was very happy to hear it since I had been thinking about it all day!

Could be what my Clancey has - Canine Vestibular Disorder.
Came out of the blue and I swore my boy was having a stroke (animal version)
It's a malady that seems to appear in older dogs.
Luckily he came out of it fine (took 2 or 3 days to be 100%) and that's a year and a half ago.
Hope it's just the same sort of event for this persons dog
I hope the dog is ok.
Poor pup, I hope it's ok.
As an aside - what drum corps are you with? I was in the Des Plaines Vanguard 1968-1970.
Jackie, Champ, and Buddy
I am glad that you were there, and hope the Choco will be just fine.
Karen and the gang

Glad you were there and the dog is o.k.I can't imagine how sacred you were.
Wow! That's scary. Glad you were able to help.
