    DefaultFirst Time Walkies

    Hiya,

I have littermates Roxie and George. After having the last of their vaccinations at the vet last week I have taken them out this afternoon for their first walk. I know its important not to exercise too much at this young age so we only went round the block. (5mins walk max) They behaved very well, as they are used to the lead because I have been walking them around the garden to get them used to it. (I'm sad, I know)
When we came back they had a drink and just flopped to the floor exhausted they are fast asleep now.
Have I worked them too hard do you think????

5 minutes is not too much. I think it's 5 minutes for every month. Besides the physical exercise it was also brain excercise which will tire them out.

I agree, five minutes isn't too much. Puppies sleep. A lot. When they're awake you'll be sorry you took their nap for granted. LOL

Yes! Yes! Pictures!!! Parker wants to see his sibs!

And FWIW, Parker's being walked about 10 minutes or so, 3x per day, on his li'l leash. It's not a forced walk, though; when he wants to take it easy and sniff/play/sit/lie down, I let him. It's also on a combo of the sidewalk and grass. On the gentle side.

That seems a fair amount of exercise, so long as you aren't dragging them...

I didn't realize that Roxie and George were Parker's littermates!

    Hiya,

I live in Hull, England, I don't think their related no but it would've been nice to be in touch with other littermates too. Thanks for the advice I'll stick to 5-10mins a couple of times a day. They seem to love it, No dragging they just trot along beside me.

I'm working on more pics, I'm new to photobucket, but I'll try and upload a couple more later today.
