DefaultIn Calif and looking for a breeder.

Hi! We live in Pasadena and we're looking for reputable breeder to buy a yellow lab pup from. Ideally, we'd like to get one before the end of the year and we're willing to travel. I've been searching for about a year now and I keep going in circles. I am in contact with a few of the reputable breeders, but they may or may not have a litter at the end of the year. I'm just looking for some more options. Thank you!

Labrador Retriever Breeder Southern California , Labrador Breeders Here is a breeder. If you email them make sure you ask if they do all the health testing and everything. And if they show/hunt with them.

P.S. If you can't find a breeeder there are lab rescues with puppies in them

Here's a link to some breeders that are involved with the Labrador Retriever Club of Southern California. I would think that most (if not all) of them would be reputable.

edited to add: I looked at the websites of a couple of the breeders listed. Everwood looks to me like what you would be looking for in a breeder: they show their dogs, the dogs are beautiful, they list the clearances, and the dogs are sold on limited registration. I took a quick look at the Saddlehill page also and it's obvious that they show their dogs. It says the might have a litter in Fall 2011. Good luck!

I second that. For awhile you were telling everyone about Breeders.net, now giving out names of folks you don't know.

The list of breeders on the SoCal list are ALL reputable.

There is a gal that posts on here sometimes, CaliforniaLabLover, get in touch with her. She shows and knows the CA breeder community.

On the surface, many breeders look "responsible". Look closer. Do they show/trial or are they just producing puppies? If they show/trial, they will talking about it on their website. They just won't try and sucker people in by the bloodlines of their dogs. Not showing posed pictures of their dogs is usually a red flag. Calling their dogs Golden Yellow should be another.

Nicole is right. Be very careful who you recommend.
