    ExclamationAccidently gave Baxter a Vicoden

Baxter has been on antifungals for 2 weeks now. At the time I got them from the vet, they only had 2 weeks worth, so I picked up the rest of them yesterday. (went up $20 in price!) Put all the pills together in one bottle. Meanwhile, SU got a script for Vicoden (still haven't told that vacation story yet). It was sitting on the kitchen counter. This morning I gave Baxter his pills (all sitting together on the kitchen counter). I put them in pill pockets and he does obedience things for them. No problems. BUT - I was sitting at the kitchen table, saw a bottle of pills and looked at it - Baxters antifungals! So what was sitting with his pills on the counter? Vicoden! They are both white tablets, very similar in size. Quick call to the Vet - because of Baxters's size, they said the Vicoden wouldn't hurt him, just might make him sleepy. We dumped out the pills, sorted the Vicoden from the antifungals, and there were the proper amount of Vicoden (SU had only taken 3). So, it was either a miracle the he managed to take a only Vicoden, and I mananged to pick out one of the antifungals this morning OR I forgot to give him the anitfungal - I only really remember fixing up the antibiotics in the pill pockets - I think I'm loosing my mind! I need a vacation from my vacation!

Has your husband taken a dog antiviral? Because that would make the story!

Glad the vicoden wouldn't cause a problem...that had to be a couple minutes of worry.

I gave Nellie one of my blood pressure meds last year. I panicked and called the vet. Well that drug was tested on dogs so thank God she was okay.

    Glad everyone was OK.
A few months ago, I took one of Bella's thyroid meds. Fortunately the dose was fairly low, so any effects were minimal (and possibly more psychosomatic than physiological).
Since then, we have taken much greater care when taking out everyone's morning pills - Bella's is always placed on a different counter than where we put ours.
