Duke the Deer Chaser. It finally happened last evening as I took the boys for a walk down the lane. A deer bounded across the path about twenty yards in front of us an Duke took off after it. Freckles was noodling in the grass and didn't see it but just saw Duke running away. He stopped when I hollered for him to stay but Duke was long gone. I thought he might end up in the next county but he returned after I called for him a couple of times. I suspect that deer just left him in a cloud of dust.
Life continues at the country house.
Duke and Freckles at their country home
Good boy, Duke! Those deer are tempting to follow, but staying close to home and returning when called are better.
We have deer at our cabin, and they are tempting for the dogs to chase! I never understand why mother nature gave them the white tail - it's a flag for predators to follow.
Be careful Duke = Bambi has nasty sharp hooves if cornered! Listen to Dad and stay with Freckles!
Good Boy Duke (for listening and coming back)
Hershey Kisses, In charge of getting Ed out to the dog park so that he gets some exercise.
Bauer has taken off after them too, but luckily a quick "Let's Go!" and he turns on a dime and comes back.
Good boy Duke!

Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for much, but bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
