She will not play with Labs. Of course she isn't one herself.
Completely ignores them. She hasn't run around with Erns even though he has poked her with toys..come on play with me play with me. After being beaten up at the previous house she was nervous at first, but relaxed now. The last couple of days he is sore so not playing at all.
Gems arrived. She runs around the house the house playing with Gems, and bitey face on the bed until I stop it when Gems bites.
At the park there are 5 Labs who go regularly and I thought she didn't play as she was nervous. The other day a boxer came in and she flew around with it playing ball and having a good time. I thought break through she is o.k. Next time same thing. Ignored the Labs.
Then this morning she did her usual mooch around ignoring the Labs until a whippet ran in. Everyone was amazed when Tessa took off around the field with it. When it left about 10 mins later she went back to mooching around ignoring the Labs. I thought it was the colour black or brown, but yellow Labs came in and the same.
The little dogs she isn't sure what they are.
That is interesting,Chris. Wonder if something happened before you got her.
I was thinking the same thing, maybe she was hurt by another Lab before, one who played too rough, so she shies away from them. At least she will play with other dogs!

For what it is worth, HK will have nothing to do with any Husky. She will avoid any contact, and if one insists on approaching to sniff, she gives a warning snarl. This began when she was attacked by one that is no longer allowed in the dog park. I have to be on constant guard for black Dachshunds also. She was attacked by our neighbors' black Dachschund, a dog that would like to kill me if he got the chance. Ever since that happened, I am not comfortable with her behavior towards same. I truly think she would try to kill one if she got the chance. What is strange to me, is that there is a Dachshund/Beagle mix at the dog park, that looks more like a black Dachshund than anything else and they are great friends. She greets and plays with all other breeds. There may be something in Tessa's past.

Hershey Kisses, In charge of getting Ed out to the dog park so that he gets some exercise.
Interesting! I wonder what happened in her past. Don't you wish she could talk?

BJ is interested in playing with dogs his own size either. He plays with the beagles and he will play with my friends bassets but that's about it. And I have to watch him with border collies - doesn't not like them at all.

Boomer - ? - 3/15/12 - always in my heart
I am wondering if something happened to. Tank has only played with one dog. That was my neighbors lab/husky mix Lucky. He passed away a couple years ago though. He will play bitey face sometimes with Bentley but other than that he like people better. Bentley will play with any breed except poms, chi's and yorkies. He is like me and runs scared from them
~It doesn't matter how smart the dog is,it matters how smart the owner is.
That is really... odd. Well, at least it's seems unusual to me.
Seamus and Flynn
That is odd that she wouldn't like a whole breed. Bauer is leery of all little dogs, but not one specific breed.

Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for much, but bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
Ed Ernie was attacked by a german shepherd and will cross a field to get in first. Bit like H.K
Tessa doesn't show anything at all. No growl, no stiffening, nothing at all. For what she has been through with the other dog in her previous home you would think she would bite, but doesn't. Even Gemma nipping her ankles doesn't raise a response.
