I was taking out the garbage Sunday night and when I opened the garage door my Yellow Lab Dusty naturally went out before me. The next thing I know he is nose to butt chasing a Skunk (second time it's happened) and needless to say he was sprayed in the face. We immediately took shampoo and bathed his face and then washed his face and eyes off. This seemed to relieve some of the smell but of course not all of it, so if anybody has any suggestions on how to take care of this problem, please let me know. Thanks.
A mixture of hydrogemn peroxide, Dawn dish soap and baking soda works wonders!

Natures miracle works great too. I keep a gallon on hand as we've had many run ins with the black and white kitties.

I thought somebody said tomato sauce ?
I swear by natures miracle. My great Dane Bailey..got sprayed a few times..seems she thought that the skunks were "Stuffies on Wheels".....I tried tomato juice..didnt work at all. Someone recommended the NM and I have used it every time since and it has worked everytime.
I used the peroxide, dawn dish soap, baking soda mixture that I found on here. It worked.
Thanks for all the suggestions, obviously Dusty is not the only dog that has ever been sprayed by a skunk.
I had a dog, Shadow, that used to get skunked on a regular basis. I could've clobbered him. Cinder has only been skunked once, and that's enough!
