    LightbulbThe little things she understands...

    impress me sometimes!

Yesterday when we were going to the vet, she went in front of me to the bus stop... (we pass there every day on our walks, but she never goes there unless we are going to the bus) Of course I had told her about it earlier... But still.

Today I was in the bathroom, just before our walk. Emma peeked in and stood in the doorway watching me. I said "You can take your glucosamine pills. I put them on the chair for you". (I laid them there with a few other things while I was getting ready, just so I wouldn't forget). Emma turned around and walked out and got her pills .

It hit me how smart she really is and how this proves non-dog-peoples (NDP) statement that dogs just react on the vocal, not the words. I have always talked to Emma, sometimes long and deep discussions. She's a good listener... But I think she really understands all of it. She may talk dog, but understands the human language .

I've heard some NDP say humans are so smart, and dogs aren't because of their brain size... But really a lot of that space in a human's brain is just full of bullshit .

    Veronica swore!

It's true though. I love these people who have never owned a dog that think they know more than us. WTH would they know?

    She's a clever old girl.

Yes, I agree, they are very smart. We talk to ours too and I know they understand. Libby walked up to me on the couch the other day and just stood there staring at me. I said "What? What do you want? Go see your dad he's in the kitchen, he'll give you something" She turned around and went to the kitchen and stood in front of him. He's like, "What?" You need a treat you poor starving animal, Okay, here ya go!"

You know you two have such a good, strong, loving bond that it makes your communication so remarkable! Emma is such a beautiful girl, and I know how much you love her, what a good match you two are!

I totally agree. I think it's the bond between human & dog that makes for a stronger communication.
Saba understands a lot, especially when I tell him: What do you want? show me!
his tail starts wagging a mile a minute and he runs towards the storage room door where all his treats are kept, sits down and waits poking at the door with his nose!

VERY smart girl. I always believed Paddy understood language, too. Seamus runs a close 2nd to Pad on that score.
