    Defaultflea and tick collars?

So has anyone used these? We don't really have a flea or tick problem where we are but we leave wednesday to go camping, up in the woods. Although Bentley has had Revolution applications, it hasn't been since his last set of shots. Does anyone recommend the collar?

If the fleas arn't a probem then they seem to work. With our kittens they ahd so man fleas they did not help a lot till after there bath then we put the collars on. My cousins JRT has one and it works on her dog.

flea collars only work around the neck area of the animal. The fleas will just travel to other parts of the body. I would go get a dose of flea preventive from the vets before your camping trip. =)

If you use the collar let it sit for several days before putting it on. All the toxins are being breathed in by the dog. They really do not work well. As someone said the fleas just migrate to the rear of the dog.

A long time ago, our German Shepherd got very sick from a flea collar. If you must use one, put it on top of another collar and don't let it contact skin.

I dont use them, no collars and no droplet in the neck of Laika. I did it once, and she's getting a weird behaviour with it (she went grazy) .. And even with suchs stuff, dogs can get ticks and flea's even then

What also works good against flea's .. Let them swim in the sea, it's cheap and has no costs all, and fleas dont like salt water

I don't like them. I use Revolution, but if they are swimming this isn't very effective.I haven't flea treated Erns for years (except when Tessa came) as he swims in the pool, sea or river and was told I would need to flea treat every week. Touch wood he hasn't had them.

I agree with swimming in the sea, but hard if you are hundreds of miles from the sea.
