    DefaultThe Rabbit

So, there is a rabbit who seems to have taken a liking to our yard. Every night he's out there, in the same general area. Every night Simon goes out to play fetch, and instead of his usual focus (throwitthrowitthrowit), he hunts the rabbit.

Eventually he flushes it out, and I see a small ball of fur go racing right by me and out the fence next to the wheelbarrow (good cover).

This was amusing for a day or two, but now it's become a huge distraction for Simon, and I think he's getting a little better at it because tonight he was very hot on the heels of that rabbit. I do NOT want Simon to catch a rabbit, especially not in front of me.

I think I know a rabbit who's going into the Rabbit Relocation Program...

Oh Connie!! I know how you feel! We have one too, and Henery chases it, doing laps around the backyard. I fear that the poor thing (who hasn't learned yet NOT to frequent the yard of two goofy labradors) is going to have a heart attack one night from fear and chomp chomp down the hatch. *hurk*

I know. Poor bunny! And, Kevin said the other night, "Do you know rabbits can scream?" I pray that I am not going to have to experience that!

My Kacey got a rabbit once. It couldn't find a hole in the fence and she finally caught up to it. I wasn't home thankfully. I was home when she killed her first groundhog though. Ugh.

(Tally so far: two groundhogs, one rabbit and one squirrel.)

Kacey doesn't eat them, just murders them and walks away. She's brutal!

Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end. -- Unknown

Oh yes they can and it's awful to hear! My dogs love rabbit and the fresher the better..gag. I always rattle the door when I let them out just in case the dumb bunny is out there grazing in our yard. I know if they can catch a squirrel the rabbit will be next.

A rabbit doesn't have a chance in my yard. Judy does a perimeter sweep every morning to be sure there are none there.

No rabbits for Abbey, but if she were off leash, she'd have caught quite a few by now. The idiot squirrels taunt her from 5 feet away and Abbey lunges at them with all her power. She's almost pulled me down a couple times!
