Last Saturday I took Duke to a fun jump at a local dog fest. The jump was sponsored by Splash Dogs with the entry fees donated to the local animal shelter.
The jump was from a real dock where they had a floating buoy rope extended out into the lake to measure the distance. The Splash Dog group uses a video computer measuring system just like DockDogs.
I sent Duke off the dock for a practice jump then walked back to the shore. When I turned around he was no where in sight. I ran back up to the front of the dock to see him trying to swim over the rope. He was going in circles and just as I was about to go in after him he dropped his bumper on the other side of the buoys and swam around the "correct" side of the dock and back to shore. Once on shore I pointed out where his bumper was floating so he went back in and retrieved it.
For the competition he jumped a respectable Junior Division distance of 14' 3" but I understood that they were only going to award ribbons for the whole group and not by divisions. Many dogs jumped over 19' so after the last jump we left having throughly enjoying the outing.
Yesterday in the mail was a large envelope sent from Splash Dogs from California. Inside was a ribbon for tenth place. The ribbon even had the event and date printed on it. I thought that was really nice of them to mail Duke's prize and now it's part of his growing award wall.

Yay! WTG Duke!
Aww Duke!!! Congrats on your ribbon!
good job, Duke.
Good boy Duke! Very nice of them to mail the award. I've found that the Dockdog people are some of the nicest people involved in dog competitions (no experience with Splashdogs).
