Raven, Jake and I headed over to Cambridge, Ontario for the annual Labrador Owners Club (LOC) Specialty this past weekend. Raven was entered, Jake just came along for the ride as usual.
Saturday: Met Karina and Neska74 (Olga? I'm sorry I'm horrible with names) in the morning. Karina was there to see Helo's breeder who was the Show Chairman. The weather was a bit dicey so after talking a bit they hit the road. Smart!
As Raven and I were waiting to go back in the ring to finish our class, I looked up and saw 3 wall cloud shelved together. Behind the wall clouds was a huge-ass black cloud and behind that was green. There was lots of lightening in that black cloud. I pointed it out to the steward and suggested the show be suspended.
There was debate on whether or not we had time to finish the class since the last dog was being examined. No way! I started heading for shelter as they called the show. The wind kicked up as I stopped long enough to grab my camera bag and ran. The wind blew portable shelters down, food was blown all over as the exhibitors ran for their lives.
Raven and I made it to the patio overhang of one of the LOC member's room before all hell broke loose. She let those of us gathered there into her room where we watched the fury of the storm. It blew and it rained like I haven't seen it do in a long time. Found out later that tornadoes touched down around us, but thankfully not where we were.
Once everything settled down about 45 minutes later, the show continued. Raven ended up taking 4th in her Sweeps class, which I was very happy with.
Later on, Felicia showed up with Ollie and went 4th in a very nice Open Black class.
I'll let Nicole give her own brag if she wants.
Sunday was a beautiful day with lots of sun and a high of about 75° (23°C). Raven was entered again in the 9-12 puppy Sweeps class where she ended up winning the class!!! Then she placed 4th in the 9-12 Regular class.
We had fun and it was nice seeing Karina again and meeting Neska74.

Good job Raven!!
Freaky storm! TG the tornados didn't touch down where you were!
Glad everything turned out ok. Congrats to Raven!!
We were driving during that storm. We made it half way home from Burlington and stopped at my parents' house to wait it out. Scary stuff. I wish I'd know about the show in Cambridge earlier because I would have come by. I live about 20 minutes away.
It was so great to meet you and Raven.. she is such a sweetheart. I think I may consider dognapping her Too bad we didn't stay to meet Jake & Ollie - I was really looking forward to that. But I'm glad we drove home - the storm looked nasty.
BWHAHAHH is right Olga! hahahhahaa
Laura, it was nice to see you again, and to meet at least one of the new crew members. I'm so glad we left when we did though, that got NASTY!! I haven't seen it like that in our neck of the woods in a super long time.
Congrats on the wins too!
Poor Helo got home, got mugged by Abby who sniffed him from head to toe, and then passed out for a solid 2 hours.
Me, Abzilla and the Helomonster.
