    DefaultOdd behavior...anyone else?

Ok...so Guthrie has a few little quirks. Like sucking on his watermelon and sneaking up things. But this new behavior has me really puzzled.

A couple times over the last several months he has found my empty coffee cup on the floor(I sit on the floor watching TV in the morning drinking my coffee) and has helped himself to the small ring of coffee left on the bottom. Recently he has become obsessed with getting a taste.

He will no longer suck on his watermelon if I am drinking coffee. He will sit or lay right in front of me and drool like someone turned a faucet on. Take note...he is not a drooler. I have never seen him drool over ANYTHING. The drooling starts the moment I sit down with my coffee cup. Drip, drip, drip.

What gives? I don't even have sugar in it! And the amount he gets is no more than the ring at the bottom of the cup so I doubt it is a caffeine addiction. Makes me wonder if he was human in his last life.

Sarah...do you think it is possible that rabbit turds taste like unsweetened coffee??? I have never seen this dog so intent on getting a taste of something.

Instead of taking him to petsmart sounds like you will have to make a detour to starbucks!

I think you need to taste a few rabbit turds and see if they DO taste like coffee! I've never tried my dogs on coffee (I drink a fair amount), but I could see Emilu getting "addicted" to it. Too funny!

The boys have never had coffee, but they act the same way about bananas, ice cubes, and apples.

My parents' friend's have a husky who was obsessed with coffee. He actually mastered a way to hold a mug (with coffee in it!!) by the handle with his mouth and move it every so quietly and carefully from the coffee table to a corner by the wall, while no one was watching. And then slurp slurp and it's gone.. it was quite funny.
There must be something in the flavour I guess..

Oh Guthrie. That's so weird - I've never tried coffee with Abbey. After your post, I'll make sure that I don't!

I had a cat that LOVED red Kool~aid! She never bothered anything else but you sat a cup of that down & YOU were sharing, if you had a lid on it, DUMP. Like him she would get it one way or another. Funny how they are. I don't have a clue but I love their funny quirks.
