DefaultMore problems..good thoughts please for Jaz

Took Jazzy in for shoulder xrays today as she hasn't improved any since Sat. Our vet then told us she was putting her weight forward due to hip dysplasia and has caused problems to her shoulders. If this hadn't responded to meds, gentle exercises, massages etc, we would do x-rays.
Vet just called and said Jazzy has OCD(Osteochandrosis) of her shoulders and it is the worst she has ever seen! It is no wonder she is limping. Jazzy is still sleeping off her sedation while our Vet tries to find out about surgery. The usual Ortho vet who does this kind of surgery for this practice is in Spain!
My poor baby....I'm to go pick her up and see what we can do at 4:30.
    Good thoughts and prayers appreciated.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am

I terribly sorry for you and Jazz.

You might consider taking Jazz to NC State's CollVetMed Small Animal Clinic -- they have orthopedic surgeons there.

I'm very happy with Puff's vet care at KSU's CVM -- she gets all her vet care there and, as a plus, it's less costly than at local vets in addition to being better.

Your vet can make a referral to them.

    Thanks Bob,
We did discuss NC State. I've been there twice before with my beagle, and it is an awesome place. We decided by the time they would arrange to see her and then schedule surgery, the ortho vet here would be back in town.
As of today, I'm leaning towards waiting for the local vet as I know him and he is an excellent surgeon.
