    DefaultToo fat!

our chocolate girl has been to the vets today for her booster and when weighed we were told she was overweight. she weighed in at just over 32kg and were told she needs to get down to around 28kg. trouble is she doesn't eat much as it is. she is still rather new to us (been with us for a month) and still trying to figure her out food wise. she has 2 cups of dry complete meal on a morning and the same at tea time but generally she doesn't eat all of it sometimes not much at all. we want to get her spayed as soon as possible and need to get her weight down apparently before she can get done. what is the best way to go about this? reduce her food? thanks

Drop the food down to one cup at each feeding. Get her out and exercise her. You can add in green beans if she looks for more food - they are low calorie and will fill her up. Good luck.

Too fat=too much food & too little exercise.
2 cups of food, twice a day is alot.
My girls get 1 cup of food, 2 x a day.

Cut back on the food, add in no salt canned greeen beans to make her feel fuller. Get her out and start walking!!

I agree with cut back the food and excersise does make a huge difference to their weight. Some foods have put more weight on Ernie, so I cut it back to adjust.

Most Labs inhale everything they can get their mouths on so her not eating it all would make me think is it too much?
    How old is she?

i had to boost my dogs food up to 3 cups because they run by my bike. How much exercise to you give her? They get 3 cups in the morning and 2 later in the day.
