    Defaultdamn lump

A while back, Toby had a lump on his face that we had checked (left cheek, about halfway between his eye and ear). At that point, we were told it was a cyst after a needle biopsy found nothing but pus. Well, the lump has grown recently and is very hard and prominent, so Mark took Toby in again today. This time the results were a bit more worrisome apparently and there was some kind of indication that it might be a mast-cell tumor after all (I wasn't there and I didn't catch the particulars). It's not certain what it is and won't be until it is sent to the path-lab but the vet wants it off.

Wednesday he'll be going in for surgery. His second. He's 5. Fingers crossed that regardless of what it is, the surgery goes smoothly and that this one is either nothing after all, or that they get all of it. I'm sure I'll be a nervous wreck all day.

You got it, Ursula!! Having been there with Frankie, prayers that it comes back innocent like his did. (Well, it wasn't innocent, it was a mast cell tumor, but the good grade with excellent removal margins).

Oh, goodness. I know the feeling. Do you remember that Angus had a MCT when he was about two? Our experience was like Amy's: Very scary, but it was a low grade and we got good margins.

The face, from what I remember from my reading, seems an unusual place to get a MCT. At least that's what I'm thinking I remember...?

Will be hoping for a positive path report!
