DefaultWe've decided no trick or treaters...

Going to have to turn off our lights and go hide in the tv room on Halloween. I just can't deal with Remy going bonkers and charging the door all night. He is so excitable over the door bell. The barking and the jumping. Never mind making some little 4 year old in a princess costume pee herself.

Anyone else or is it just us?

Oh no, we don't answer the door either. 4 dogs who go nuts over the doorbell! They would be trying to get out the door every time we answered it. We usually go down to the neighbors and sit with them in their garage/driveway and pass out candy.

Woe be the first to ring our bell but after that the boys seem to settle down. My trick is to load up on all the candy I like then turn off the light early.

The doorbell never bothered Cybil much at all and so far Dozer hasn't even noticed it. He'll be in his crate likely anyway to keep him from trying to steal candy.

Mine bark at the doorbell too, I'd just gate them in the bedroom, but we're in the woods, we don't get no trick or treaters!

We sit out on our porch with the candy bowl, beer and the neighbors. Good times and no doorbell. =)

I say I am going to do that every year. Now I have two dogs who bark and charge the door. I usually end up pouring a huge drink and sitting outside for a couple hours. It's supposed to rain so I don't know what I'm going to do.

a friend of Dave's did up little lolly bags the other year for Halloween and sat in the lounge room waiting for the trick or treaters and no one came LOL.. so funny... he was so upset that no one wanted his lolly bags.

We'll be at a dress up Halloween party this year so will most likely be eating it rather than handing it out!

We'll be out ourselves at a party, the dogs will be confined. I doubt we'd get trick-or-treaters anyway, there are no kids of appropriate age in our townhouse group and there's a gate across the shared driveway so no easy access to anyone from outside. Besides, our doorbell doesn't work! (Though the dogs go nuts when someone comes to the door anyway.)
