Little Jackson is almost 12 weeks old and ever since we got him at day 1 he scratched excessively at his collar. I figured no big deal he just hates the collar at first. Now he scratches all over more than I have see another dog. Is this normal for puppies, does adult coat/fur coming in cause itching or something? Something I need to get checked out? I try to look between his fur and I don't see any redness or irritated skin, or under his belly where there is no fur its not discolored or red in any way.
After fleas the first thing I think of is food alergy. We had a golden that responded to changing to a food that had no corn or wheat. After giving it some thought, I realized I had never seen a dog grazing in corn or wheat fields

It's not normal for a puppy to scratch like that. He does not have to wear a collar in the house, just outside for walks. You can check for fleas by running a flea comb through his fur. If you see fleas or little black spots like dirt, you should treat him for fleas. Do not use people shampoo to give him a bath. If it continues, have a vet look at him.
He just came back from the Vet so it doesnt appear that he has any kind of Fleas of any sort. He is currently eatting Eukanuba Puppy Chow (Large Breed). The vet took a stool sample, I would imagine that would tell if he had any kind of allergy?
