    DefaultNaughty Daisy!

Daisy, at 10 months, has had free run of the house when we're gone for a while now. We are not usually gone more than 2 hours at a time. She's always very good. One time she chewed up a toilet paper roll (just the cardboard) and then the cover to a VHS movie, on a different occasion. Nothing major though, and I did not revoke her privileges.

Last night she and Lola, our yellow lab mix, were left in the house for about 2 hours. Daisy had been interested in a duffle bag that I had sitting out on the floor earlier in the evening, as it had an empty bucket in it that I had put her dog food in when we went on a little trip this weekend. The duffle bag was zipped shut. In one of the side compartments on the bag I had two hard bones that were filled with peanut butter that were wrapped in plastic wrap. The side compartment was zipped as well.

When we got home, Daisy had managed to unzip the duffle bag, chewed up the empty bucket, and took out the other contents of the bag (my running shoes, a hair dryer, and a bottle of dog shampoo), but left those alone. She must have a good sniffer on her, as she smelled the bones w/ PB in them, and proceeded to chew through the inside of the duffle bag to get to the bones. She and Lola enjoyed those and had them nice and cleaned out when we got home.

She is currently enjoying the bone right now.

My fault for leaving the bag out, and it was kind of comical. I was a little worried about impaction as she did eat the plastic wrap and the nylon from the duffle bag, but she's been fine all day.

Also, a little update. If anyone remembers when she was sore and I was quite worried about her and ended up taking her to the orthopedic specialist, well she was put on Rimadyl and rest for a while. She came back around during that period and I watched her like a hawk and continued to rest her after the Rimadyl. She's mostly resumed normal activity now, except for very crazy, hard playing, and she seems good and sound. I'm very, very happy about this and quite relieved! Although, I do continue to watch and study her gait pretty much every time she is in motion! Thank you all for the prayers and good thoughts, they made all the difference!

Daisy, you monkey! Better be good or else Momma will put you back in your crate!! (I fear that Ollie might be a crate-lifer...)

I'm sorry, but I laughed out loud. She knew what she wanted and went for it. She's a smart cookie.

Dozer is going to be a crate-lifer too, I'm sure of it.
