It's the 8th day since Bess came home. She is a wonderful pup with tons of energy and full of surprises.
We had a few days of rain this past week. That presented a few challenges in the house training dept. After each walk I wanted to dry her feet. It turns out she hates towels. Not only does she snap and try to bite the towel. She makes a mean face at the towel like it's her worst enemy.
She is doing great in the walk department. We still have the challenge that she tries to pick everything up in her path. I do say 'no' but she is fast. Once she gets an acorn or a small rock, she tries to back away so it can turn into a wrestling match to get it out of her mouth. Yesterday I opened her mouth and found $1. She also gets a little timid when people walk by, but this is improving.
She still tries to show affection by wild jumping and snapping. When she jumps, I firmly tell her to sit. Sometimes she does, sometimes she needs assistance. The puppy biting seems to be getting worse. I pull away and make her sit. She seems to be willing to do anything for a treat. So far she has mastered shake hands, sit, and get down. She loves to have her belly rubbed and sometimes just collapses into the position.
The funniest thing is how she interacts with her overstuffed /chew proof dog bed. I keep it in the kitchen where there is a large Island. She drags it around and round the island. Sometimes she puts toys in it, backs off 6 feet and dives into it and the entire bed slides across the floor. I have photos of this and will share them next time I download photos.
Have a nice weekend.
Pretty girl! Long legs...in about 3 wks she'll be able to get the dog food on the counter, no problem!!! Great update, thanks for sharing!
It's not the destination, it's the journey!
She's beautiful .

Cute pictures. thanks for the update. Sounds like you have a lab pup in the house!
I would like a lab that spits out $1 every time I look into its mouth...

What a cutie she is. Yep, nice to have a lab that spits out dollars, I'd say you have a winner now. Princee just spit out nasty stuff!!!
Great update, just keep up the diligent work on teaching her not to bite and jump and you'll get there! She sounds wonderful!
