Over the New Year weekend, I was unfortunately as sick as a dog and in bed for two whole days. During those days Parker, who is usually my snuggly buggly dog in bed, did nothing but aggravate. Tore every empty box in the place apart, snatched things and wanted people to chase him, stole and ate half bag of liver treats and a piece of chicken, then had two big watery poos on the kitchen floor. Finally settled down and went to sleep...or so I thought then began rolling back and forth on the floor and making this funny sound he makes all the time that sounds like a cow. He got up, I let him out for a while, he came back in and went back to sleep. I am guessing the poor thing was bored because I wasn't up and around for him to follow and couldn't toss for fetch for him. Any thoughts?
He was bored. Are you the only one who takes care of him?
Sharon, Blaise and Diesel.
boredom. make him some kongs stuffed with goodies to keep him occupied and busy.
Sounds like he was bored.
I think I will buy him some Kongs, stuff them and put them in the freezer for opportunities like this. He's not usually bored. He runs around outside with Linus a great bit, likes to amuse himself with his wubba and his plastic milk buckets. I stand out there and watch him for quite a while, ,try to get him to bring it to me to throw but after three fetches, he's tired of it.
A tired dog is a good dog. A brisk walk on a leash will go a long way towards accomplishing this. I have a fenced in back yard, but just running around doesn't seem to tire Duke out like a good walk. Plus, it's beneficial to me too. I could stand to lose a few pounds. Win, win situation for both of us. Hope you're feeling better.
bored and stressed
