Oh man, Shamoo. Oh man. You shoulda seen the lights.
Flynn? Did you just, well, you know.
Oh yeah. I did. Pretty short trip this time, tho. Oh man. Those lights !!
    May I suggest something, Flynn?
    Wuht.
When you do that... that shiver shudder quiver thing, why don't you close your eyes?
    I can't.
I see mom cover up your eyes. When you start *twinkling* why don't you close them?
Hey. When I start *twinkling* I am OUTTA there.
Do you know I'm always by your side? When you are *twinkling*?
Nah. You are?? Did I ever hurt ya?
Oh no! Never! I just wait. When I see your tail begin to wag I know you're back.
Oh man, Shamoo. If I ever hurt you while I was *twinkling*... awww I dunno what.
It's okay, Flynnie. It's okay. You do some of your best retrieves after *twinkles*!!
Yeah... I guess I'm still a little wound up.
Flynn? Let's go work on those bones for a while. We'll lay beside each other.
You're a good big brother, Seamus. Thanks a lot.
    You're welcome, Flynnie.

Oh No Flynn, but what a great big brother you have. Nance, how long between episodes and can you pin point what triggers them. Belle has been on meds for 5 years now and has only had maybe 5 episodes. I hope I am not jinxing her. Hugs to you and the Black Beauties!!!
    Love you

nance is he on pheno? if so, have you talked to them about adding potasium bromide to the mix. zena has been on PB since the end of july and has not had a seizure yet. she was having them about every 3 weeks before the PB. she reminds me every morning for her meds on her slice of bread.

I had my Reo on pheno for the last 6 years of her life. Zero seizures in those years.

Oh Flynnie, more lights? I know it's Christmas time, honey, but look at the lights outside, please, and no more "twinkles" inside, okay?

Flynn is now on 4 grains of pheno per day. This is twice the dose he had been taking for the past 6 years. I had him on the Kbr (along with the pheno) for about two years. It didn't change the frequency or severity of the events; all it did was cause Flynn to swell up from all that salt, so I took him off of it. In a couple of weeks Doc is going to run his bloodwork to see if he can tolerate an even higher dose of pheno.

Just to throw this in before someone asks, Flynn's epilepsy is idiopathic. If there were any known causes or triggers, believe me, they would have been corrected or eliminated a LONG time ago. The only consistencies APPEAR to be length of time between events (approx 30 days), time of day (around 4:00 PM or 1:00-3:00 AM while sleeping), and duration of event (6-10 minutes). Other than those things, roll the dice!
