We went for Saba's yearly check up today and the vet found a golf ball size lump - sort of near the front of his right shoulder - where the lymph nodes are located. It was moving around and the vet aspirated it with a needle. He did a quick test in his lab and he's almost 100% positive that it's just a fatty lump. However to be on the safe side, we sent it for pathology results.
The only thing that bothers me is that I did not notice it earlier even though I give him a lot of massages and brush him regularly. It was hidden under all the skin around his neck/shoulders, but still, I feel like a bad mom Bad Bad Bad. He's my first dog so all these experiences are new to me and I learn as we go along. At least now I'll know how something like that should feel under my fingers.
The results should come by Sat. or Monday. So I hope and pray it's just FAT. Other than that, he's one healthy 5 year old
Sending good thoughts that it is just a benign fatty lump.
Good thoughts sent that it is nothing to worry about
Probably just a lipoma. Labs are really prone to them.

you're not a bad mommy either.
Good thoughts that it's just a fatty lipoma. Don't beat yourself up about it, the important thing is that it was noticed and is being checked out.
Good thoughts that it is nothing.
Prayers for a fat fatty lump!
