DefaultAll 3 colours in 1 litter??

My Chocolate lab Roxy had her first litter yesterday. She had 10 beautiful healthy puppies!! She was mated with another purebred chocolate lab but there is one yellow and one black in the litter! The rest are chocolate. Is this normal or unusual??

There is no possible way to have a black puppy in there. I'm afraid someone else is in on the wash.

And I'm willing to bet that that yellow puppy will be a dudley.

I'm so glad that Roxy is safe and those puppies all appear healthy to the naked eye.

A dudley? What does that mean? She was only with the chocolate one which was arranged and we kept her in during the rest of her heat. Is it possible one of their grand parents was black or yellow?

Wow.. you certainly seem to know absolutely nothing about breeding or Labs. Thank you for being completely ignorant and irresponsible .. you must be so proud.

There is no possible way to have a black puppy with a chocolate to chocolate breeding. You will have to have these puppies dna tested to determine that the dog you supposedly bred her to is indeed the sire. If you do not do this, you will be lieing to the AKC/CKC when you register the litter and these puppies will not be registered with their correct heritage in place....a huge disservice to this fabuous breed, not saying how you would be being dishonest to the puppy families.

Further more if you have no clue what a dudley is, what on earth are you doing breeding??? Does your girl and the stud have all their clearances??? If so, what are the status of them and which ones have they had done. Does your girl and the stud have any kind of title...front or back side??? If so, what??? Do you show her in any venue at all? How about the stud???

    Wow....

It is a shame that you bred without this sort of knowledge. Unreal... Those of us that train, show and study non stop to make hopefully the right breeding decisions are simply appalled at such actions. This breed is so precious, folks like yourself are hurting it by breeding like this!!!

    *heavy sigh*

    *wiping away tears of anguish*
