Pacing here, too. Sammy is one of my faves.

Good thoughts and prayers for Sammy, keep us posted.
Just got off the phone with the vet. Sammy is severly dehydrated (and no wonder, with all the vomiting and runs) and the bloodwork shows his inflammation cells and lipase cells are very high.
He has a bad infection in his pancreas. So he's immediately going on IV fluids, meds for the vomiting and anti-biotics for the infection.
He will have to stay there for at least 3 days - because the vet says "he's a very sick little boy".
I'm very thankful his favourite vet tech is working today, she's taking good care of him.
My poor boo!
Anyone dealt with pancreas infections before? I know they seem to be common in cats....

Sounds like your Vet has everything under control and your boy will be OK in a few days. I have no exxperience with a pancreas infection so I too am wondering where that came from.
Best thoughts for Sammy.

Good healing thoughts for Sammy. I know how scary that is. Pancreatitis was the first that crossed my mind. You never know where it comes from really. Fatty food can cause it, and getting into garbage with table scraps. Emma was perfectly fine one day, the next she started vomiting and next she got severe diarrhea and vomited and before I know it she couldn't move and got unconscious on the way to the vet. She was so dehydrated and hardly no blood circulation. She was one of the sickest dog the vets had seen surviving. She did a marvelous 100% recovery. Even tho she didn't eat really fatty food before, she got a strict diet after with very low fat kibble, boiled chicken, cod, rice and veggies. The piggy ears was just a memory. She didn't got any more problems with that.

Glad the vet got to the bottom of it and hoping Sammy is back to normal soon.
Oh, no. Lots of good healing thoughts for Sammy.
my first lab Casey had pancreatits....not sure if it is the same thing. She was very sick, she was vomiting and very lethargic. She stayed at the vets on IV fluids for 3 days so her pancreas could rest, she came home on a special diet and recovered just fine. Just have to make sure you stay away from fatty foods. Keep us posted, lots of prayers coming your way.
Glad to hear the vet figured it out, good thoughts that Sammy recovers quickly. No experience with either pancreatitis or infections, just hoping that he's back to normal soon.
Hope poor Sammie gets better really fast.
