As long as the lake is not frozen:

Followed by a roll in the snow to dry off:

In the low 20's today. It gives me goosebumps.

When ice starts to form on the river, I will not let HK in the water. (1) My assessment that it is too cold. (2) Might as well learn as soon as possible that running on the ice, and potentially breaking through is a no-no. (3) If she were to get in trouble in that cold water, I do not want to go in after her, and I know that I would.

No such thing as too cold, as long as there is no sheet ice to cause problems. Mine will dive in with the temps in the teens, just to be retarded!
