We got some bad news today. My son rescued a 4 year old yellow lab 3 months ago after he lost another rescued lab that he had for 5 years. The first rescue died of anal cancer. Today he got the news that his new rescue has kidney cancer. He is of course devastated. Even with treatment the prognosis is poor. It is hard to understand how he could be so unlucky. The only comfort is in knowing that his girl will have had a loving home for the short time she has left and maybe that will make up for some of the hardships she has suffered in the past. It's just so sad.
Tell him im so sorry.
My heart goes out to him!I can't imagine losing one, let alone a second in such quick succession.
Like others have said, he is doing so much good for these pups that I hope knowing this will bring him some consolation.
My pretty girl, Lexi!
I couldn't agree more. I'm sorry though.^^^This alone would make me like to think that your son is doing a lot of good, regardless of the personal pain. I know it's a sad thing, but imagine the good he's doing for that dog.
