Your son is a very caring person and both dogs are glad they have/had him in their lives. God bless and prayers for his dog.
Tell him not to give up! Obviously someone out there feels these dogs need him, as sad as it is for him to lose them so quickly in succession, there has got to be a bigger plan going on here, at least in my humble opinion.
My heart goes out to him though - but please thank him for doing what he does - and that's filling their lives with joy and love
Me, Abzilla and the Helomonster.
So sorry to hear this news.
Isn't it great to have a sister
It's hard to lose your pets, but maybe that's his "thing" .... to help dogs when it's needed, when no one else will take them. If he can focus on the joy he brings to the dogs vs. the sadness he feels when he looses them...he might take some comfort.
Our first "foster" labrador was a 10 yo girl that had cancer removed but the staff at the shelter fell in love with. They wanted her to live the rest of her life with a family. So we took her in. She taught us much more in the time she was with us than ever expected & I think she had a great "retirement" home. She lived with us for several months till the cancer grew back & she let us know it was her time. We were all with her when it was time to help her pass & one of our labs that was a "mother hen' to her. We have wonderful memories & a few nice pics. It doesn't ever get easier to lose a fur family member. Spoil her, give her the best life you can & hold her when its time.
