Well, that didn't last too long. After about a week of being left of of his crate when we leave the house it looks like Wyatt will be going back.
In the past 2 days he has either shredded or eaten:
2 pairs of (cheap) sunglasses
box of tissues
husbands hat that we just bought on our trip to Vermont
a small pumpkin
I guess it's just a matter of time before he gets into something important or dangerous.
So back in he'll go, unless it's for short periods of time when I know he's tired!

Oh, Wyatt! I'm just glad it wasn't anything worse that he got into!
Be good next time, Wyatt!!
He was a busy boy...!
Sorry but of the things on that list, that made me laugh. Have you tried feeding him occasionally?a small pumpkin
Aw Wyatt man, Lexi here... you just messed up a super good thing. That being crated is no fun! You can't be eatin' & tearin' mom & dad's stuff up or you go back to it.
My pretty girl, Lexi!
That was pretty good for the first trial period!
Eat a pumpkin--Back in the box. Sorry, Wyatt boy.

HK would go 2-3 days before she got into something when we started her a 11 months. Then it was back in the crate for a month. Okay, maybe 3 weeks. It was on the third trial that she earned her permanent freedom.
There is some evidence that Wyatt is not totally guilty, or maybe not the only one guilty. Exactly where were these things that he got into? We did learn how to keep our house HK proof. Hey! You place a bag of M&M's within reach of any kid (not dog), and it won't be long before they are gone. It does not matter how old the kid is. 2 years or 10 decades!
So, did the person that left those things in reach, also get crated? Equal justice here.
