Hello.
My puppy has found a newfriend Argentine dogo......its my cousions dog 4 years . the big dog is basically a hunting dog however he is very friendly with my little pup. We leaved both in a park it was all well however big uncle (argentine dogo) is caring & attacks any other dog which comes near the puppy incase my puppy runs after after other small dogs the uncle stops him or attacks other dogs you guess its ok to take my puppy with his uncle ? will it have any impact with his behaviour puppy runs all over his uncle who is really kind to him!!!!!!
I wouldn't trust your dog around him. Argentine dogo's are classed as a dangerous breed here in Australia & it's illegal to import them.
My guess is he's not attacking other dogs that come near them because he's protecting yours but is doing so just because that's his nature & that of his breed.
As for the dogo's behaviour having any impact on your pup, I'm not sure. I've never heard of a Labrador that was "taught" to fight by other dogs but why risk it? Labs have too sweet a nature to be hanging out with a breed whose only purpose in life is to attack every dog that comes near it.
Please for the safety of your own dog, don't let him near this dog again.
i thought same thanks
Because your cousin's dog is probably being protective of your puppy, your puppy would probably (hopefully) be safe around him if there aren't any other dogs around. But I would be very concerned that your puppy may not be able to socialize properly with other dogs if the Argentine is always being so protective/dominant.
Bella
Yeah i will take care he gets socialised with other ones tyvm
