DefaultBess has been with us 4 days now - photos - experiences

Good evening, below is a link of fresh Bess photos. Note, some are with flash, some are without.

    http://picasaweb.google.com/NYinTexa...sTheLion3Days#

It's hard to believe that Bess has been here for under a week. She is an amazing dog. Each day I see more and more progress. Since my last posting:

Bess has learned how to sit, give paw (shake hands), drop what's ever in her mouth (comes in handy during walks), fetch the ball, and come. She also likes to beg everyone she sees to rub her belly.

She is making progress on lie down, give the other paw, and take a treat gently (without devouring my hand). I can't wait until (after shots) I can get her into a class.

She loves our frequent but short walks. I look forward to the day when she completes her shots so I could socialize her more. During walks she frequently stops and scratches her collar area. She is wearing a typical cloth collar that I would guess is nylon or some synthetic. I wonder if she would do better with a leather collar.

She is still eating a majority of the Diamond food, but I now mix in 20% Innova and she seems to be doing fine with that.

This week I kept her with me while I worked in the breakfast area. My biggest challenge is not tripping over her because she always seems to be under foot. The only time she is in the crate is while I sleep and if I step out of the house. After a day or 2 she no longer exhibits any apprehension abut the crate and she senses it is temporary.

Thats all for now, Regards Howell and Bess

That tripping part never seems to go away. BJ likes to lay directly in a doorway, or right in front of the refrigerator and sometimes he moves and sometimes he doesn't and then you try to step over him and he panics and moves and...........well I haven't fallen yet but it's been close.

Scratching at the collar could just be because it's new to her.

    She's a beautiful little girl!

She's adorable! Love the pics with Tigger.
Looks like she's going to outgrow that little round bed very soon.

My biggest challenge is not tripping over her because she always seems to be under foot.
Wait till she learns to quietly sneak up behind you and lick the back of your leg. No matter how many times they do that you will still leap three feet in the air every time.

She's a beauty! We have that Tiger, too. I saw the tail out in the yard the other day.
