Even though im making this thread out of pure facts the whole monster expression is a joke i love my choc lab puppy mocha who is now 5 months and about 35 lbs or so. Just the other day i emailed the breeder whom i purchased mocha from and she told me my pups parents were (mom) 80 lbs and 22 1/2inches and her (dad) was 85lbs and 22 1/2 inches tall as well so can i expect my pup to be around that same size as her parents i mean she is already about 35 lbs just curious what do you all think
First theres cocoa then theresMocha wonder what's next cappuccino hmmm
Yeah, I'd think between 75 and 80#. Labs are not supposed to be bigger than that.

Honestly, 35lbs at 5mo isn't all that big. Did the breeder show the dogs? 80lbs is quite heavy for a bitch, especially at that height.
She's probably going to be around that size. The rule of thumb is adult size will be around double the weight at 4 mos.
yea i believe the mother was overweight my prediction was my pup would end up around 60 lbs at max 65lbs but when i took my pup to the vet last thurs she told me mocha was looking great and at the right weight and was very lean i was just wondering though because my friends were telling me she may be a bit large

I think you're prediction is pretty close to what how big she'll be as an adult. My Caleb is 23 1/2 inches tall. He weighed in at 67 pounds at his annual visit two weeks ago (he was 30 1/2 pounds at 4 months). Eighty and Eighty-five pounds sounds a little heavy for a 22 1/2 inch Lab.
I think that sounds heavy too. The boys are both 24". Angus weighs about 68, and Simon weighs 62 or 63. They are both pretty lean, but that would be a 15-20 lb. difference - and two inches shorter!
