You may remember that back in February, we had a lump removed from Toby. It was on his side, near his right "armpit". It came back from pathology as cancerous - the type escapes my memory at the moment (I should probably go back and look at my old posts - duh!). But the take-home was that it was unlikely to spread and they were confident that they got good clean margins. But we check him regularly and carefully for more.
Yesterday we found one. It's on the left side of his face, about halfway between his eye and ear. It's hard, and about the size of a pea, maybe a little smaller. It moves with the skin. It's not like the other one, but of course I'm a little worried. And it came up really fast - literally the day before I had him at the dog park and bathed him because he was covered with mud. I know I washed his face, because it was filthy, and I'd think that I'd have noticed it then as I was rubbing him down. So maybe it's something different. It doesn't bother him, he doesn't itch at it and he doesn't mind when I touch it.
We've decided because it came up so suddenly, we're going to wait another day to see if it gets any smaller (like a bite would). But I think that we'll probably take him to the vet tomorrow to get it checked.
Fingers crossed that it's just a bite or something.
He'll be 5 in a couple of weeks.
Hopefully it's nothing. Postive thoughts here.
