    DefaultRusty ... BACK!

Poor Rusty's been getting almost all blind retrieves this season and that's tough on an inexperienced 10 month old pup. However, he tries his best and continues surprising me with how well he's doing so far.

Having picked that bird up and just as he approached me for a left heel SIT ...

    PTUUUIIII

I told him to pic that Teal back up and HOLD it. To which he replied ..."ok but how bout in the boat?"

Guess he told you his thoughts on that teal & left heel sit!

He is doing stellar as a gun dawg, but stuff like that reminds you he is still a pup & pups do unpredictable (& entertaining) things.

Either your boat is tiny, or Rusty has done got BIG!

You need to add a couple Higdon Pulsator ducks. They are the biggest "deal closer" I have seen. We tossed the robo chicken after we got the pulsators!

Nice GWT! What is the white speck in the upper 1/3 of the picture on the left hand side by the far shore?

Wow, you are observant! Here's another view of what you spotted at about the same distance.

Here it is from the opposite (East) end of the wetlands ...

and looking across the wetlands fromthe South shore at the same object ...

Can you tell what it is now? I'd be surprised if you do know.

Mark ... we actually have a pair of "Duk Butts" ... sump pump feeder butts. Ours were made by Chuck Epp who started the original "Miracle Decoys" back in 2000 in CA. I have two of those spinners and two of the butts. They are marine battery operated from shore via hard wire to a 12V marine battery for the pumps and 6V marine battery for the wings. Each have 75 ft of wire to an on-off switch in the blind.

I've learned to do away with the spinners after the first few weeks of season as they spook more birds than they help finish, IMO. The Robos are far more effective and easy to move around. The butts are fine IF you have a dead calm spot for them that the ducks want into. However, I've developed a 4 decoy jerk cord set that creates a LOT of movement and often turns lookers into landers in calm to moderate wind chop. If you're interested I'll go into detail how it's made and used.
