Thanks to all the powerful JL "poop prayers" and some good vet care Skippy appears to be "in the clear" now. He was doing well yesterday, but still straining and trying to poop without results, so SU took him to the vet this morning to have an x-ray and see where things stand. He was "all clear"!!! I think he is still straining because his poor rectum is so irritated and he feels like he needs to go. I have some "doggie probiotics" to put on his food, continue his antibiotics and he's good to go! Now I know that he has NO IDEA that deer carcass caused his trouble, so I am going to have to keep an eagle eye on him when we are in the woods to make sure he doesn't get into anymore. Unfortunately there are a lot of hunters in the area and they field dress the deer and leave a lot of crap behind. But for now, my boy is HOME!!!

This is the "all clear" we've been waiting for!
I'm so glad your boy is home for good now.

Woohoo!! Great news!
Great! Yea! Skippy! Yea, Mom and Dad!
Amazing the grief a pile of guts and a load of crap can cause.
Hershey Kisses, In charge of getting Ed out to the dog park so that he gets some exercise.
Great news! I'm sure that's a big relief to all!

Pat, that's awesome!! I bet he doesn't poo for a couple of days now...it seems like whenever Angus has been completely cleaned out like that, for surgery or whatever, it always takes a few days.
Don't you wish you could explain to them, "Now honey, the reason you got so sick is because you ate a deer carcass, so don't do that anymore, K?"
I'm just so glad he's out of the woods! And without surgery!
