Well - haven't been posting much because I am BUSY with BAXTER. Kinda forgot how much wonderful work a puppy is. As they say - good thing they're cute! Emilu had a few rough days with him, and now has settled in to being so nice and gentle with him - they spend the evening with her on her back, letting him crawl all over her. If she has had too much "Baxter time" she just asks to go outside without him for a little while. Potty training is "coming along" - haven't had any poop accidents in the house for several days, but it's hard to get a routine going with the pee thing. He's pretty quick about it. He doesn't really like his crate, but only fusses for a little while when he is in it and then settles down - getting up once at about 4am for the first morning potty. I am going to switch to a wire crate instead of an enclosed crate, because I think he would like it better, and I need one anyways. SU has been really good about coming home at lunch time to potty and walk him, and they have really bonded nicely. Baxter is also getting along well with the kitties - because the kitties make sure that he behaves himself. He LOVES the pond, and has taken several swims. He is learning to wear his collar, sit for treats, or before being fed, and actually responds to small verbal corrections - before quickly going on to the next thing. He has had his 72 hour vet check and goes back this Friday for his 2nd set of vaccinations, microchip and some DNA testing. Did I mention that he is also a really good looking pup? Baxters the Best!
He certainly is smoochable!
