Some days Libby has a hard time jumping up on the couch or bed, some days not, but I think I'm going to buy her an orthopedic bed because a lot of times she ends up on the hard bedroom floor. There is a rug she lays on, but I want something with more padding. I did buy a settee sort of thing for her to use as a step for the bed and she does do that, but I think it's time for some new dog beds. My babes are getting older.
I made JJ's from memory foam and egg crate material! They all tried to steal his bed.
Where did you get the memory foam and egg crate? I could do that, I'm sure. Well, I could try anyway.
you can get the memory foam just about any where. i got this at big lots, but walmart, target, all those places have it. check the bedding department. they should have egg crates there, too; but what i had was brought home from the hospital years ago. i bought some microfleece throws and covered them with that, so it feels really cushy and plush for them. brats! LOL
My foster dog ended up chewing up half the bed, but did save most of the egg crate. <rolls eyes>
When Erns was diagnosed with H.D. the vet said get him off the floor.
I bought this bed, then found the cot mattress at the salvation army store for $10 and put on top. He also has a magnetic topper.
Excuse the mess of his bed. Only pic I could find online of his bed.
ETA. I think you call it a crib in case you are wondering what cot means.
Great idea Sandy!!! Never thought of that.
Chris - aha yes that was one of Mr Erns more destructive days LOL!!!
Both great ideas, thanks! I looked online and those ortho beds are anywhere from $100 to well over $200! Holy crap. I have a big lots next to where I work, I'm going to check it out.
