Last day of the early Teal season. Carol and the two pups proudly displaying a double shortly after legal shooting time.
Rusty making the 15th retrieve of his very first hunting season. Can you see the burning desire in his heart for this sport?
One more Teal and we called it a day after 90 minutes.
And of course, Cappy always gets his "special planted duck" somewhere on the side of the long driveway on the way in next to pampas grass. If you didn't know he had a health problem and is retired, it would sure be hard to tell it from this pic ...
After getting up at 4 AM, making two retrieves, then retrieving a dozen or so training bumpers thrown for him when the action slowed, all of which were intentionally very long swims, Rusty got a wee bit tired.
Here he is up on the dawg bench afterwards in Carol's blind. He was wobbling back and forth and from side to side with his head down and eyes closed .... only the post kept him from falling over sound asleep in the 2nd pic. What a character!
That last pic really cracks me up. He's still a growing boy and he needs his sleep!
Rusty has made great progress in his short life. You've done a wonderful job with him, Jim!
LOL good boys! Cappy looks like he's in his glory retrieving his bird!
