We just found out, Rusty is NOT "pure Labradoodle". His great grandaddy on the sires side was a 135 pound Irish Wolf Hound. I believe it too. Just look at the great grandson now!
Ah, but he fetches so well now I guess we'll just keep him and start calling him our Irish Wolfador.
and i hope that he will be your healthiest most long living retriever - yes retriever yet !
Bless him !
He is a handsome, handsome boy! And maybe it's just that you put the idea in my head, but I really can see the wolfhound in him in those pics.
Rusty is as "pure" as a "pure Labradoodle" can be. He just looks like one of the Baskerville Hounds in that first pic ... and he's still growing. Remi is the dwarf of the family now and Rusty stands a good 1-1/2" taller than Cappy. He's gonna be a really big 'un.
Notwithstanding his size, Rusty is still very soft and among the "sweetest" dawgs I've ever known. His hunting skills are realy shining through now and he LOVES to go. And yet ... he puts Cappy and Remi to shame when it comes to obedience and blind manners. We were very lucky in getting him.

With that red hair, surprised you didn't notice the Irish Roots.
Jim, with those long legs Rusty has your comment about him being part Irish Wolfhound is NOT out of the question. He is way tall!!
My pretty girl, Lexi!
Jim, maybe the reason he is taller than your labs is because you fed him the wrong kind of puppy food. I'll bet you thank your lucky stars everyday that you went ahead and got him. It's really great the way he has worke dout for you and Carol.
He is so gorgeous, Jim!!!!
