    DefaultJava

It's been a long road to recovery, but we're finally coming to the end of it.

Java tore both her ACLs 2-16-2010. She had her first TPLO surgery, on her right knee, on 3-25-10. She had her second TPLO surgery on her left knee 10 weeks later, on 6-3-2010.

She is now 22 weeks and 12 weeks post op and doing amazing. A little stiff at times, a little sore at times, but that's to be expected as her activity increases. She's walking 2.5 miles, twice a day and swimming 30-40 minutes, 3x a week. She has also had a few supervised play sessions with Moka, about 15 minutes each. She's not able to run and play off lead just yet-but that may just be me being a little over protective and taking things slowly.

She's lost 6.5 lbs in the last 4 weeks (yay!!) and she's looking great!! My beautiful Big Chicky!!
Now, we're just trying to get used to being a 2-dog household again!! It's been a long 8 months......

She looks great...Mocha must be happy to have her buddy back again. Do they play very rough? Sometimes Lola and Gracie start playing so rough...I just cringe.

Yes, they play very rough....sometimes we have to step in and separate them because it does make me nervous this soon. Moka likes to jump on Java's back and knock her over.
I don't know if I'll ever be able to let them play without holding my breath a little bit.

She's beautiful. Just keep on being over-protective. Sometimes it's not easy to do what's best for them. I can't believe how rough lab play can be; I often just hold my breath when Bruno is running full speed with Duke.
